STORING FARM PLASTICS

Best practice for storing farm plastics (bale wrap and silage pit plastic) ....

1. Choose an area of the farmyard to store farm plastics that will allow access to a rigid truck. Ensure this storage area will not “get in the way” of other farming activities. This storage area should be on concrete to avoid contamination.

2. Make up a pallet box by tying 3-4 pallets together. This will hold up to 350 bale wraps.

3. Once the wrap plastic is taken off the bale, shake the plastic well to remove any dirt/soil and place it in the pallet box.

NO Stones, iron bars or other contaminants

If any of the above contaminants are found to be in the farm plastics by the collector, your farm plastics will be deemed to be contaminated and will NOT BE COLLECTED.
